The simple present (also called present simple or present indefinite) is a verb tense which is used to show repetition, habit or generalization. Less commonly, the simple present can be used to talk about scheduled actions in the near future and, in some cases, actions happening now. Read on for detailed descriptions, examples, and simple present exercises. With all other verbs, we make the present simple in the same way. The positive is really easy. It’s just the verb with an extra ’s’ if the subject is ’he’, ’she’, or ’it’. Let’s take the verb ’play’ as an example. The simple present tense is one of several forms of present tense in English. It is used to describe habits, unchanging situations, general truths, and fixed arrangements. The simple present tense is simple to form.

From the above table, notice the following points..
For positive sentences:
*There is no auxiliary verb.
*We conjugate the main verb by adding s to the third person singular.Present Simple Tense

Normally, for positive sentences we do not use the auxiliary verb do. But if we want to emphasize (stress) something, we may use it. For example, instead of saying ’I like your dress’, we could say ’I do like your dress’, just to show how much we like it. Here are some more examples:
